MAC Saturday – En Plein Air
- Join RECONNECTED exhibition artists Rachel Milne, Michelle Teear and Peter Lankas in the Museum grounds for some en plein air art-making.
Spend the day working from life in the en plein air tradition. Using the extensive grounds and surrounds of the Art Muesum on the edge of Lake Macquarie, discover the beauty of working directly from nature in the fresh air.
En plein air or plein air painting, is the act of painting outdoors.
COST: Free (or you can book some affordable art materials for a small fee)
MATERIALS: BYO or rent from MAC
(you can book a ticket to rent an easel, or buy an art material pack).
Artists will be available to share some tips and tricks
If you'd like some advice from our resident artists please bring a mask.

ABOUT THE TICKETS:
We'd like to know you are coming so we can ensure safe distancing between people in the grounds. Book this ticket if you have all of your own equipment and materials. This is a FREE event and the tutors will demonstrate and walk around giving out tips and tricks during the day.
Packs will be available from 10.30am
'Rent an Easel and Paint Pack'
You can book a standing easel for the day with a kit, including paints, palette and brushes. You will need to return the equipment by 3pm, but never fear you will be able to leave with your finished artworks and sketches.
'Watercolour Art-making Pack'
We have a beautiful activity developed by Michelle Teear that you can complete in the Art Museum grounds. The take home kit has a watercolour disc, one small brush and three pieces of watercolour paper. We will also loan you a camp chair and A4 clipboard for the session. This kit has an extension Portrait activity by Peter Lankas.
