Yes. Our team can provide guided tours of the current exhibitions, and can customise lectures, workshops and/ or art classes to give your event a point of difference.

MAC yapang's onsite cafe, Federici's, can provide catering for morning teas, cocktail parties, light lunches and formal functions. MAC yapang's wine partner is Ernest Hill Wines, and any other alcoholic beverages can be negotiated with MAC yapang according to our Liquor Licence and partnerships agreement.

Sculpture Park bookings can be made through Lake Macquarie City Council. Speak to MAC yapang about booking a wet weather alternative option for your Sculpture Park ceremony.

Yes. MAC yapang has accessible car parking in close proximity to MAC yapang. General Parking is located next to Teralba Amateur Saling Club, and overflow parking is located next to Booragul Wharf. Coaches or buses are permitted to park in overflow parking.

Please note, overflow parking is located approximately 100 metres downhill from MAC yapang.

MAC yapang is located at the end of First Street, Booragul, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. MAC yapang can be reached easily from the lake foreshore cycleway, the water or by public transport.

Pets are not permitted within indoor spaces at the art museum or in the marquee, however pet parking is available at three locations on the exterior of the building. Please see map below. 

Official service animals are permitted within all public areas at MAC yapang.

At shop MAC you will find high quality handcrafted jewellery, glassware, ceramics, bags and textile accessories by local and national makers. shop MAC supports artisan made, the Local Indigenous Art Code program, sustainability/ eco-friendly, fair trade and Australian made. This means you can purchase with peace of mind; knowing your environmental impact is low, and your social impact is meaningful.

Yes. MAC yapang can provide basic trestle tables with chairs for up to 50 people. Any other requirements must be arranged by the hirer in consultation with MAC yapang. All furniture brought into the space must have rubber stoppers to protect the floor. Please enquire with MAC yapang about availability of audio visual equipment and prices.

Yes. Subject to approval from MAC yapang decorations are permitted within the space. Decorations must not be affixed to walls and the hirer must take responsibility for removal of decorations and ensure the space is left undamaged and clean after the event.

Yes. MAC yapang is a single-level building with ramp and path access. There are accessible car parks and ample space for drop offs. A wheelchair is available as are accessible toilet amenities. Most of the work in the Sculpture Park can be viewed from the pathway but is predominantly situated in a grassed area. 

It is a requirement of hire that MAC yapang staff are to be on duty during functions and events to ensure the best experience for you and your guests, and to maintain the security and care of the artwork and art museum.

The number of staff required for each hire period is at the discretion of MAC yapang and will be discussed with the hirer at the time of booking.

Hire fees include one staff member. If event deemed to need 2 or more, an additional fee will be negotiated with the hirer.

MAC yapang is best suited to small to medium sized events with a capacity of less than 120 people. Suitable events include cocktail parties, seminars, ceremonies, launches, meetings, dinners, small conferences, product launches or presentations.

MAC yapang has various hireable spaces, including:

• Terrace and marquee
• Foyer, lounge/library and balcony (after hours only)
• Main exhibition space (after hours only)
