The Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie, yapang (MAC) is located on the largest coastal saltwater lake in this country. One of the gallery’s main collection strategies since 1993 has been driven by a collection policy, taking as its theme Still Waters, Clear Visions.

Not only does this policy reflect the importance of Lake Macquarie in the City’s identity, but also takes as inspiration the idea of water as a literal and metaphorical concept.

The Sculpture Park was originally conceived as part of this group of works and continues to develop within the museum's extensive grounds.
