Due to demolition works at Awaba House MAC yapang and Three Bears Cafe will be closed from 9 - 13 September, and 16 - 20 September. The art museum and cafe will operate as normal on weekends (9am - 3pm Saturday and Sunday) and weekend events will continue as planned.
Like New celebrates the works of artists that have recently come into the care of the permanent collection of visual arts. This prized collection holds over 1000 contemporary artworks onsite at Booragul, which relate by highly-regarded national, international and Hunter-based artists.
Like New brings about a reflection on the shift in the collection as it grows in size and artworks are gifted, from one collection to another, bringing a new beginning for the artwork and its journey.
Including works from our collection by Bridget Hillebrand, Ian Strange, Jill Crossley, Jodie Reynolds, Ken Unsworth, Lottie Consalvo, Maddison Gibbs, Maria Fernanda Cardoso, Marlene Houston, Peter Gardiner, Shaun Allen (Shal), Thomas Gleghorn, Tim Georgeson, Tim Storrier, Vipoo Srivilasa and Wendy Sharpe.
