a very fine river: convict stories from the Hunter

a very fine river: convict stories from the Hunter explores the stories, artifacts and sites of Newcastle’s convict history through the work of a select group of local emerging artists.

The thought-provoking and poetic artworks featured in a very fine river: convict stories from the Hunter respond to the extraordinary lives of convicts banished from their homeland, while commenting on the impact such migration had on the Aboriginal people of this area.
