The William Dobell salon hang features eight paintings from our collection and one on loan from the private collection of a community member.
The works pay a wonderful tribute to the artist as they form a survey of Dobell’s interests from portraiture, landscape to travel and home and were created in the last twenty years of his life.
This exhibition displays our ongoing commitment to showcase collection works permanently in the MAC exhibition space and compliments the REAL WORLDS: Dobell Australian Drawing Biennial exhibition, touring from the Art Gallery of NSW and supported by the Sir William Dobell Foundation.
