Gates’ delightful selection of work by 65 established artists pays homage to all those dogs and dog lovers. Who let the dogs out not only presents a strong cross section of contemporary visual arts practice, but each work portrays the complex and lasting emotional and physical attachments we have with dogs. Through these passionate thematic links, it beckons loudly to the wider community.
Who let the dogs out developed through a partnership between Merryn Gates, Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery and Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre over the past eight months.
