This exhibition features work from Australia, Ireland and Scotland. Each of the eight selected artists has researched the fate of female convicts banished from their homeland to Van Diemen’s Land in the mid 1800s.

Felt Presence invites eight artists from Australia, Ireland and Scotland to interpret different aspects of the lives of female convicts. Through their chosen medium each artist has researched the lives and journey’s that female convicts faced when they were banished from their homeland to Van Diemen’s Land in the mid 1800s.
