A project examining the phenomenon of art-collecting practice in Australia, and how we define our interests as a society.
Focusing on the role played by private collectors in shaping notions of a collective cultural identity, the exhibition concentrates on artists who were practising at the time of the Australian Bicentenary in 1988; a time when complex issues were raised about Australia’s collective identity.
