Join us these school holidays for a creative workshop designed for children aged 7 to 14. Inspired by the exhibition Trevor Weekes: Opus, participants will have the opportunity to explore the world of art and music, bringing both together to create their very own musical sculpture.
In this hands-on session, we will dive into the artistic journey of Trevor Weekes, who has spent over fifty years exploring the connection between sound and visual art. The exhibtion Opus features a stunning array of musical instruments transformed into a large, powerful sculptural piece, highlighting the deep interplay between what we hear and what we see. A Museum Educator will lead a tour of the artwork at the beginning of the workshop.
Throughout the workshop, young artists will be guided through the process of crafting their own sculptures using materials inspired by musical instruments, tapping into their creativity and imagination. It’s a chance to experience how art and music can come together to create something truly special.
