Four experiences to share with mum this Mother’s Day at MAC
Published on 29 April 2021
Spoil your mum this Mother’s Day by indulging in food and art at the peaceful lakeside Museum of Art and Culture, Lake Macquarie (MAC). At MAC we have created unique experiences your mum will be sure to love, from live music by local musicians to a pop-up afternoon tea with edible art on the menu.
Here’s four ways to make mum’s day (or weekend) extra special.
1. Live music Sunday 9 May with Kent Daniel
Pour mum a glass of wine and kick back while enjoying the vocal stylings of local musician Kent Daniel, known for his laid-back contemporary folk music. This event is part of MAC’s Sunday Sessions, and includes an art-making activity for participants to enjoy.
Tickets are $20 each and include all art materials, plus one glass of wine, beer, or soft drink, served with cheese. Dine and Discover vouchers are accepted for this event.
2. Take a walk through our Sculpture Park
Get outside and enjoy a leisurely walk through the Sculpture Park set alongside the beautiful lake. There you will find sixteen sculptures by Australian artists at your own pace, perfect for adventurous children to discover and explore.
After your walk, spoil mum with lunch or morning tea at our Sculpture Café.
3. Saturday 8 May Afternoon Tea at MAC
Here’s one for the foodies.
Join local pastry masterminds Covered in Crumbs at a special afternoon tea at MAC on Saturday 8 May. At this pop-up event, master-pastry maker Gareth Williams will serve up his signature cakes and pastries with tea and coffee, accompanied by guitarist Ray Cairney.
Group bookings (2 or more) are $45 each. Dine and Discover vouchers are accepted for this event.
4. Find the perfect gift at shop MAC
