Calling all artists and sculptors!

Do you have an idea for an artwork that would transform the Sculpture Park at the Museum of Art and Culture yapang (MAC yapang)?

On the foreshore of Lake Macquarie, the MAC yapang Sculpture Park is being reimagined. ‘yapang’ is the Awabakal name for this place, which translates to pathway and journey. Over the next few years we will be creating new pathways through the grounds and seeking artworks to shape the experience.

We want to hear what you would create and support you to develop an idea into a commission ready concept.

This support is aimed at enabling you to test new ideas, experiment with your process and seek additional technical support. Artists who may not have previously created major public artworks are encouraged to apply.

We are looking to support three artists develop their concept for a commission ready public artwork. Each artist or group selected will receive $2000 to support the development of their idea with a further $1000 available for materials testing or engineering consultation.

Expressions of Interest must be submitted by Thursday 5 May 2022.
