Our main exhibition space will be closed from 10-13 December while we install our next exhibitions. You can still enjoy shop MAC, the Sculpture Park and our brand new cafe, Federici's.
We aim to present innovative and original exhibitions of high-quality artwork and evaluate applications based on artistic expression as well as the appropriateness to the existing program, the available space and feasibility to deliver.
Successful proposals are supported through NAVA aligned artist fees and are supported by the MAC yapang team including with curatorial development, exhibition installation, marketing through our channels and public engagement programs.
Proposals are assessed twice yearly by our curatorial committee in April and November. Applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome of their submission after this period.
We plan our program up to 20 months in advance, with exhibitions in the main gallery, project space and Art in Your Community space programmed in curatorial alignment.
For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and curators, shortlisted proposals will also be discussed with the MAC yapang Aboriginal Reference Group and further consultation, or mentorship can be provided. We also offer opportunities to develop an exhibition or other project through our yapang arts placement program.
